Style Sessions: Fashion Link Up – Chambray & Polka Dots

Welcome to Style Sessions! This week I’m sharing one of my fave trends and I don’t think you’ll be a stranger to it… chambray! But it’s not just any old chambray, it’s the polka dotted type. Are you a chambray fan?

I also wanted to say how fabulous it is to see so many of you joining the Friday’s Fab Favorites Link Up! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all your posts and being joined by the gorgeous Andrea and Rhea as Co-Hosts last week was such a delight. I’m excited for the next one this Friday! Oh and until then, if you’d like a chance to win $250 for whatever your heart desires, be sure to enter this giveaway!

In case you’re new here, Style Sessions is live every Tuesday from 5am PST. It’s all about sharing what we’ve been wearing, or if you’re on a budget, a virtual outfit you’d love to wear! Every week I also select someone to showcase as ‘Head Stylist’ in the next edition – it’s a brilliant way to showcase your personal style and your blog.

Want to join the fashion link-up? Add your post now and meet some new fashionistas!

I simply ask that you please follow Style Elixir (via Bloglovin’, Twitter, Facebook or GFC!) and provide a link to this in your post or add the button below to your blog. Any tweets to spread the word are fabulous, we all love meeting new blog friends!

I take my chambray with a splash of polka dot…

Last week I confessed my love of white and this week, it’s back! I am loving white jeans, they are beyond versatile and work with so many things. I recently spotted this shirt from Lulu’s and adored that it wasn’t just the usual dose of blue chambray – I take mine with polka dots, thank you! Such a cute and fun twist on a classic. Keeping with the simple, understated feel of chambray, I injected some earthy warmth by adding a tan belt and heels, the pop of pink lipstick gave a feminine finish…

Meet Our Head Stylist…

I’m excited to introduce you to the oh-so-sweet Megan of And Here’s To You Mrs Robinson.  I adore Megan’s style – it’s fun, fashionable and polished, while still being down-to-earth and relatable. I love the chic gold belt and fabulous pop of color in those heels…

1. What is your go-to look?  I love to wear printed or bright colored pants with a fun top. It’s easy to throw together, comfortable for chasing my crazy toddler around and still somewhat more stylish than my pajamas!

2. There are so many fashion trends right now, which on are you currently loving?  I am having so much fun with pattern mixing (as you can tell!). It’s been fun to push my limits a little more and see what I can get away with. Plus, I feel like it’s probably most accurate representation of my personality.

3. What inspired you to start your blog?  I have had a personal blog for a while {before I even started dating my husband} but just in the last couple of years I ventured into this big blog world with “And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson”. I guess my biggest motivation was that I wanted a place where I could freely express myself and share some of my most vulnerable thoughts and feelings. At the time, I was ultimately craving to feel like I wasn’t alone during some tough times in motherhood. Most of the time I only heard or read people who seemed to have it all together and never admitted to having any sort of emotional difficulties with being a new wife and mother. So to help ease my anxiety, I turned to writing. I wanted to be a real and genuine voice that showed a different perspective to some of life’s challenges. Blogging has become a huge blessing to me as I have been able to connect with so many amazing people and be a part of a great community that has helped me through my roughest times. Plus, it’s just been a lot of fun!

4. Name three beauty products you couldn’t live without?  Mascara (yay blonde eyelashes), concealer/powder (my skin thinks it’s funny to pretend to be adolescent still) and a good lotion for the hot, dry weather I live in.

5. How would you describe your style?  Eclectic but classic maybe? I like bright, bold pieces but love classic combinations and silhouettes (if that makes sense?). Also, thrifting is the best, so throwing in some fun and funky items from thrift stores is definitely my jam.
