Friday Faves – Best Ikea Kitchen Ideas on Pinterest

I have been watching old episodes of Fixer Upper back-to-back lately and it’s always a little dangerous when I get too immersed in tv shows. Basically, it spreads over into real life and now, I’m deep in Pinterest looking at home renovations. We live in a lovely townhouse and there’s only so much you can do to your own home before you run out of rooms. I’ve been trying to convince Chris we should do some ‘fixer upper’ projects on other houses though, it’s incredible the transformations that can be done!

One area that I think makes a huge difference to a house is definitely the kitchen. It really is the heart of a home and from watching so many seasons of Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna, if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that a fabulous kitchen is key. I love the fresh, clean feel of white kitchens. Gorgeous white marble bench tops look incredible! They can also be pricey… which led me to discover some of the amazing Ikea kitchen makeovers on a budget. I definitely think mixing high and low budget items can create a stunning result that won’t break the bank. For example, choosing Ikea cabinets and then opting for a high-end bench top will give your kitchen a luxe feel and this mix-and-match approach can work for a variety of budgets.

I realised today just how many Ikea kitchen ideas on Pinterest I’ve discovered and saved in my private board. It made me think I should share them with you! I’d love to hear from you about kitchens… have you ever renovated a kitchen? Do you have any tips or great ideas you learned trough the process? Please share!

I’d also love to hear which of these Ikea kitchen ideas is your favorite…

Friday Faves – Best Shows On Netflix + Fall Fashion Under $100

I don’t know what we all did before Netflix. Actually, I do, we probably got lots more done. There’s just something so nice about crawling into bed after a long day of work, opening my laptop and watching some of the best shows on Netflix with Chris (my husband). I wanted to share a few of our faves today and would also love you to share yours, I am always looking for the best Netflix shows to watch.

So, our number one Netflix show at the moment is definitely Schitts Creek. Have you seen it? Seriously, OMG. Hilarious. I got my mom onto watching it too and showed her how to get Netlifx on her tv, she called and told me she couldn’t stop watching them (and it wasn’t just because she didn’t know how to turn it off). It’s hands down probably one of my favorite shows of all time. The characters are so accurate – it’s just what I envisage a few Beverly Hills trust fund kids to be like… and their parents. Yes. Who’s seen it? I am dying to talk about it, so leave a comment and let’s chat. Who’s your favorite character? I love David, he is just too good!

Best shows on netflix to watch schitts creek review

My all time favorite and arguably the best show on Netflix is Schitts Creek. Seriously, do yourself a favor and watch it! Hilarious.

My other fave is an oldie but a goodie, The Mindy Project. This will always have a special place in my heart, I love Mindy! Right or wrong, I find her inner dialogue somewhat scarily similar to my thoughts sometimes. She’s amazing and so relatable. Who’s watched The Mindy Project? Thoughts?

I still need to watch Lady Gaga’s ‘Five Foot Two’ Netflix Documentary. I saw some talk about it on E! News, she seems to get pretty real and candid. Have you seen this yet? What did you think?

Oh and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Poor sweet little Kimmy, I love her innocence and Titus with his ‘Lemonade-ing’ scene will always be one of my favorites. Who’s a Kimmy Schmidt fan?

I’d love to hear what shows you love, I need some new ones to move onto when I’m finished watching these. I always find it so sad when you get to the last episode… like, what do I do with my life now? When you binge watch a show, does anyone else find you get super invested in it too?

If you haven’t seen Schitts Creek, guys seriously do yourself a favor. Even my husband Chris loves it, so it’s not just for us girls. He’ll say to me at night, can we watch an episode of Schitts Creek before bed?  Umm, YES. Yes we can.

So after I’ve watched my nightly Netflix episode before bed, I usually sneak a little peak at my favorite shops online. We all have our rituals, right? There’s some of the cutest new season style in at the moment, I love fall fashion! These are some of my fave finds this week…

Friday Faves: Links I Love – Best Online Shops, Celebrity News and Marketplaces

Like all of us, I spend a lot of time online and wanted to share with you the links I love. There’s websites I visit daily that have just become a part of my routine. Do you have a few of these too? I am quite partial to a good dose of celebrity news and love checking out fashion, beauty and homewares on sale at my favorite stores.

These are the links I love and website’s I’m currently spending my time on. I want to hear from you too! Leave a comment and let me know a few website’s you visit regularly. I’d love to check them out while I’m relaxing on the weekend!

Links I Love: Best Online Shops, Celebrity News and Marketplaces

Links I Love - Best Online Shops, Celebrity News and Marketplaces

Links I Love: Celebrity News

So I must confess, I basically start and end every day reading the latest celebrity news on TMZ.com. I love keeping up with the Kardashians (and they’re never short of drama), as well as getting all the insider info on who’s loving and leaving who. I’ve been reading TMZ.com for years and they’re always the first to break news and insider info. Basically, if it’s not on TMZ or E! News, I just don’t believe it!

Links I love: Online Sale Outlets

You never have to pay full price for anything these days and my all time favorite sale outlet is Century21. I visit their department stores in New York all the time and they are incredible. With massive discounts on designer fashion and homewares, it’s the best place to shop. With Christmas coming up, it’s also a perfect place to get everyone amazing gifts without breaking the bank. As an example, a few years ago I had been wanting J Brand leather pants so badly, but didn’t want to drop $1k on them. I searched and found a pair at Century21 in New York for just under $200. Amazing!

I’m also a fan of Saks off Fifth and who doesn’t love Nordstrom Rack, am I right? All these stores ship internationally too. So wherever you are, happy shopping!

Links I Love: Creative Marketplaces

Being in business myself, I have such respect and admiration for other creatives. So much heart, soul, time and dedication goes into growing your own business and I love that creative marketplaces like Etsy allow us to live our dreams. I have an Etsy store called SHE Society, it is my website design business. I have been so lucky to work with people all over the world on their blog design, business website design or shop design. It’s an incredible community to be a part of! I choose to support other small business owners and often shop Etsy for beautiful homewares, hand crafted perfume (I wore ‘Amongst The Waves’ by Olivine Atelier for my wedding) and party supplies. I am always in awe of how creative people are!

These are the sites I visit everyday, I’d love to hear what your favorite websites are? Leave a comment and share them below, I’m keen to check them out over the weekend!

Friday Faves – Our Beautiful Wedding Invitations

Designing our beautiful wedding invitations was such a fun part of wedding planning! I feel when you create wedding invites, their vibe really sets the scene for the whole day and gives guests an idea of what to expect. Our guest list just included those we are truly closest to and have been a big part of our lives, so we had around 75 people. This allowed us to create a beautiful invitation set for each guest. After doing lots of research online, I found Wedding Paper Diva’s and was blown away with how many designs and personalization options they had. This meant that whatever I dreamed up, I could create!

white and rose gold beautiful wedding invitations idea neutral stylish invitations

I’ve always loved metallics and neutral tones, so I chose a gorgeous rose gold color font and heavy ivory card stock for our church invitations. I wanted something simple but elegant and pretty. However, not so frilly that it wouldn’t suit Chris. I created the design online and showed Chris the proof, he thought it was fantastic. The whole process of finding the perfect invitation to reflect us, personalize it and have it printed was incredibly easy – and importantly, budget friendly.

Our Beautiful Wedding Invitations

white and rose gold beautiful wedding invitations idea black floral invitations

As part of our wedding invite set, we also included a separate card for the reception, along with an RSVP card. This had a fun option for guests to nominate the song that will get them on the dance floor. Finally, we added a little Details card which had some helpful information for guests and our wedding website with registry information.

Side note, I couldn’t find a wedding website design that I liked or a cute URL to give to guests. For example, ours was just laurenandchris.we-do.love …how fab is that! You don’t want to put a big clunky one with numbers or a business name. None of the other wedding websites I found had built-in Google maps for directions, or an online registry that allowed us to choose any gift (from anywhere or anything). So I built a wedding website for us with all of this! If you are interested in your own custom wedding website, contact me and I’d love to create one for you too.

I adored the mix of our crisp ivory wedding invitation and the dark floral and gold of the additional cards. I’m a fan of florals, but sometimes they can be too girly. The black toughened it up a little and gave a very glamorous feel. While the soft pink shades of the floral was very wedding appropriate. I didn’t want any part of my wedding to be a token, typical wedding style. I wanted it to of course reflect a wedding, but be more what you would expect for a fabulous event.

We complete our wedding invitation set with a kraft card envelope, it was the perfect juxtaposition of high end glam and something a little more rustic. I tied them with Rose Gold Bakers Twine that I found on Amazon and each invitation was finished with a pretty bow at the front. I once read an interview from a celebrity event planner and they said creating an amazing experience and styling vibe for an event is all about mixing unexpected elements. I’ve always believed this even with fashion and outfit ideas, for example mixing sequins and denim. The best looks combine different vibes!

Below are the beautiful wedding invitations we chose (these are the design proofs so you can see all the details). I’d love to hear what you think…

I adore our wedding invites and was so thrilled with them in real life. The quality of design, card stock and printing was impeccable! When our wedding invitation delivery arrived, I couldn’t have been more excited or happy. With anything you put your name to in life, you want to feel proud and both Chris and myself, along with our parents, were genuinely excited to send these to the most special people in our lives.

What do you think of our wedding invitation set? I’d love to hear from YOU, my friend! What invitation vibe and colors did you (or would you) choose for your wedding? Leave a comment below and let’s chat.

Friday Faves – How To Style Your Bedside Table

I love home decor ideas and wanted to share some tips on how to style your bedside table beautifully. As the first thing you see when you wake up and the last sight at night before you go to sleep every day, it’s definitely worth spending some time to create a stunning little space that reflects your style and includes a few things you love!

This is my bedside table below. I like to keep it clean and organized, with a sprinkling of a few of my favorite things. Of course, fresh flowers always add a gorgeous touch and I have fun choosing a pretty bunch each week. It is so simple to add a little luxury to your life and your home – and your bedside table is the perfect place to start!

How to style your bedside table home decor tips what would beyonce do quote woodwick candle maison margiela replica beach walk perfume le labo santal 33

How To Style Your Bedside Table

1. SIMPLICITY IS THE ULTIMATE FORM OF SOPHISTICATION.

As they say, less is more and this is key to remember when styling your bedside table. Choose a few pieces you love and feel inspired by, the rest should be stored in drawers below to keep your surface clean, clear and uncluttered. When buying a bedside table, opt for one with great storage space (big drawers). This means you’ll have everything at your fingertips, but it will be neatly packed away.

We have the from Malm 3 Drawer Chest from Ikea in the black / brown wood color and I added the Malm White Glass Top – they look fabulous together! Our bed is a king with a high headboard frame, so I feel a larger bedside table fits well and also accommodates our gorgeous oversized lamps. It’s very chic and has just the right amount of drama to create a luxe feel.

2. ADD DIMENSION AND DRAMA WITH HEIGHT.

Styling with objects of varying heights creates interest and drama, this is key to styling a bedside table. A lamp is perfect as the tallest item, then graduate down from there by adding a photo frame, flowers or a candle. Then for the lowest item, a jewelry tray is brilliant.

3. BRING IN NATURE.

Your bedroom should be a relaxing space and to encourage restful sleep, including elements from nature can help promote this. In addition to fresh flowers, I personally love having a Himalayan Pink Salt Lamp beside our bed, these have become mega popular and are great to have in key rooms around your home. They can help cleanse and purify air, as well as give many other benefits by absorbing the positive ions in the air, which sap our bodies of energy. Himalayan Pink Salt Lamps generate negative ions naturally, when heated, the salt releases cleansed water vapor back into the air. I got my Himalayan Pink Salt Lamp on Amazon.

4. USE COMPLEMENTARY COLORS.

As you’re adding pieces, think about what genuinely works well together. For a beautifully styled look, keep almost everything within a neutral color palette, then add a little pop of color with one statement piece. I love doing this with flowers! It’s fun to change them up each week and bring a new vibe to the space. Another great option includes a pretty bright jewelry box – these are practical and pretty!

5. HAVE FUN WITH ART AND INSPIRATION.

Whether it’s a photograph of loved ones or fun quote art, be sure to bring your personality into this space. It’s a really fun opportunity to make an area in your home 100% completely YOU!

Remember, you don’t have to spend a fortune to have gorgeous interior style and decorate your bedside table. I like to check out Target and Ikea for great basics, then dress them up with more personalized and creative items from Etsy. Or look for when big departments stores like Nordstrom or outlets like Century 21 (my favorite!).

I hope this helps provide inspiration on how to style your bedside table, I’d love to hear your thoughts and what pieces you like to wake up and dream next to?

Friday Faves – Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser Review

I am excited to share one of my very favorite things with you today! After Chris and I got married, I really wanted to give our home a little makeover to freshen things up and have a new vibe for the start of our married life. On our honeymoon as we were exploring Copenhagen, we were introduced to the concept of ‘Hygge’, which is all about the art of happiness, creating magic in ordinary moments and living well.

I learned that despite the often cold, dreary weather and high costs of living, the Danish people are ranked among the happiest in the world! Quite extensive research was done to uncover what it is that fosters this happiness and the concept of Hygge pretty much explains it all. A key aspect is making your home a sanctuary through things which nourish your soul and senses… candles and scents are very easy examples of this. There are also celebrations through the year that are full of Hygge, Christmas with it’s special traditions and family focus, is a prime example.

Chris knows I’ve always been a little obsessed with creating beautiful atmospheres, perfect lighting and adding fun little touches to regular things, it was just brilliant to finally have a name to explain it all! So he bought me The Little Book of Hygge before we left Copenhagen and I’ve been soaking up every page. It was written by Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute (what an amazing job that would be!). It’s a lovely coffee table book too! Inspired by everything I’ve learned in The Little Book of Hygge and without spending a fortune, I have found a few things that have made a huge difference and helped me create a beautiful and relaxing home environment, with the fresh, modern and fun vibes we want our home to have.

The Little Book of Hygge is beautiful to read and we couldn’t have discovered this at a more perfect time. I said to Chris that I want to create a home and life together that is full of Hygge, after all it’s family, friends and the little things in life that light up your soul… that’s what Hygge is all about.

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser review 7 and the little book of hygge

In addition to soft furnishings, rugs, artwork and a few other little touches, which I’ll continue to share more of soon, there’s been one item that has made such a wonderful impact! As I’m sure many of you would agree, there’s something so amazing about a beautifully scented home. I searched everywhere for the perfect way to achieve this and found this Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser. Whether we’re relaxing on the lounge catching up on favorite shows or entertaining friends, we have both come to appreciate and really look forward to using our pretty diffuser each day… and of course choosing which scent we want to use!

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser Review

I have always been a huge lover perfumes, candles and scents, they help to create a vibe, enhance the atmosphere and uplift how you feel. We have ours running every day and if I can share one major point of difference that sets this diffuser apart from anything else I have tried before, it is that the scent travels incredibly well. I just got so sick of spending money on expensive candles, diffuser sticks, oil burners or humidifiers that did not spread a scent you could actually smell without having your nose in direct contact! Major applause needs to be given to the engineers, artists and business team behind Organic Aromas – they’ve created such a high quality product that completely delivers (and far surpasses) what they say.

When we turn the diffuser on, within minutes I can smell essential oil at the other end of our large living room… and after around 5 – 10 minutes, the scent travels upstairs and finds it’s way into the bedrooms and bathrooms, filling our home beautifully with pure essential oil. It’s been so great having the diffuser on while we’re watching tv downstairs in the evening, then walking up to bed and as my head hits the pillow, I love laying there enveloped with the delicate aroma before falling peacefully asleep.

The diffuser is fully automated and runs for two hours before turning off (I think this is such a great feature, as I always turn it on and just forget… probably because the essential oils make me so relaxed!). During this time, the diffuser cycles intermittently to diffuse the perfect amount into the air.

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser review 1

The Elements Premium Essential Oil Blends Collection and Exquisite Nebulizing Diffuser

Over the years I have tried so many different candles, oil burners and diffuser stick sets, but nothing has worked as incredibly well as this essential oil diffuser. I did a lot of research before choosing this one and the unique difference with Organic Aromas essential oil diffuser sets is that, unlike the other heated units on the market or those made of plastic or humidifier diffusers, the Organic Aromas diffuser works without heating up the oils and without the need to add water to the diffuser. This was an incredibly attractive quality for me, as it means the essential oils are kept 100% pure (and not diluted by water), which makes it so much more powerful and ensures we get the full therapeutic, health and wellness benefits of essential oils. Plus, as it doesn’t use water this means my house doesn’t fill with moisture particles or humidity (which are not good constantly being pushed onto walls or furniture).

There are lots of diffuser designs to choose, however as a standard each set includes the diffuser and a bottle of essential oil to start your journey.

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser review 2

You’ll also find a large range of pure essential oils and essential oil blends, I couldn’t narrow it down to just one as I love using different oils depending on my mood and how I feel from day to day. Given this, we went with The Elements Premium Essential Oils Collection, which includes the Inspire box collection and the Awaken box collection – a complete set of ten different oils. It’s been so much fun for Chris and I to choose the scents we want to use each day, they are all genuinely beautiful and each fill our home so perfectly. Every time we’ve had friends of family over, the second they walked through the door they have commented “oh it smells beautiful in here, what is that?” … and then of course I get to show off our fabulous diffuser and share the different oils with them.

Our essential oil collection includes premium essential oil blends including Ocean Breeze, a mix of Peppermint, Sweet Fennel, Cajeput, Lime, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Coriander (I have this on right now and it’s just gorgeous!), Welcome Home with Pine, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Jasmine, Tagetes and Petigrain, as well as Morning Bloom a fresh blend of Geranium, Jasmine, Patchouli, Ylang ylang, Palmarosa and Sweet Orange.

The Elements Premium Essential Oil Blends Collection

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser review 4

My essential oil diffuser operates so quietly and I love the clean, stylish design – we have been moving it around to decide where to place it permanently, but it suits the decor anywhere in our home (so it makes choosing only one spot hard!). I was really impressed by the quality of the Organic Aromas diffuser – it is really well made and the solid wood base combined with the beautiful glass components make for a very luxe looking device. At the back of the diffuser, there is a little knob to control the intensity level (which I love, as if we have all the windows open I will have it on more, or of an evening we just turn it down to the lowest setting and it is just the right amount to delicately fill our home). There is also a pretty white light inside, which can be turned on and off by a touch button at the back. So clever!

If you’d like to learn more, you can check out Organic Aromas here. I also must say their after sale care and customer service is exceptional, which says so much about a company – I love shopping with people who truly value and appreciate their customers. Oh and I’m clearly not the only one who is thrilled with the Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffusers and customer service… I always check reviews these days before I get anything and their reviews are amazing. Style Sessions: My Wedding Hair Style – Ideas for Brides and Bridesmaids

As a bride, you have so many decisions to make! I have always been someone who knows exactly what I like… and what I don’t. Everyone who knows me, also knows all too well how notoriously particular I can be and what a perfectionist I am with everything. When it came to finding the wedding hair style that was juuust right, I spent countless hours browsing Pinterest but couldn’t find a photo of a bride with the exact hair I wanted for the day. Instead, I narrowed it down to three styles and found the most incredible hairdresser that was able to just get my vision and merge the elements of each that I loved to create the perfect wedding hair style for me.

I wanted to share a little more about my own bridal hair chignon, as well as the gorgeous bridesmaid hair styles my sister and best friends wore on the day… and of course our amazing hairdresser, Holly Stewart, who created them all beautifully and was an absolute delight to share the morning with.

My Wedding Hair Style – Ideas for Brides and Bridesmaids

When choosing a bridal hair style, I had a few criteria the looks under consideration had to meet. First and foremost, it had to be a wedding hair style that could last the entire day and look as fabulous at the end as it did at the start… enduring hours of dancing, along with summer heat, humidity, a cathedral length veil and lots of guest hugs! After chatting with Holly about it, she confirmed what I had suspected… the only way to ensure this was with an up-do.

I found a few styles I liked and explained to Holly which parts I wanted to use from each to create the perfect wedding hair style for me. Some of my other specifics included a naturally finger brushed back look, sweeping one side back above my ears (to ‘lift’ my face and not drag it down) and have a effortless twist at the back, without anything too fussy or over-styled.

I also loved Morgan Stewart’s wedding hair style and used this effortlessly polished vibe for inspiration. Holly added the perfect finishing touch of bringing my chignon out to the sides so front-on in photos, you could see I still had a nice full head of hair.

When I was explaining it all (in my very specific and detail oriented way), I thought “oh gosh, no one is ever going to understand what I am envisaging”… but Holly is absolutely incredible and just ‘got it’ straight away. It was such a relief to know that on the day I didn’t have to worry… I knew I was in the best hands with Holly and could feel completely relaxed and excited.

On the day, I loved that Holly styled most of my hair early in the day so I could then relax, chat with my bridesmaids and have my makeup done. Then, when everything else was done and I was about to get dressed, Holly finished the chignon and worked in so wonderfully to help me achieve the perfect side-swept fringe, juuust the way I love it (as I said earlier, I am a notorious perfectionist! #sorrynotsorry).

My bridesmaids were also incredibly happy with their hair. I love juxtapositions, so mixing high and low elements was what I wanted for the bridesmaids to create an easy, effortless look. They wore the most gorgeous rose gold sequin dresses, so I thought loose waves and a fun, high pony tail would be just right to add an effortless elegance. I was obsessed with how their hair turned out!

Even my sister, who has short hair and always wanted to try loose waves (but never had anyone get it right) was over-the-moon with how Holly did her style. At least once a week, she will still say to me, “I wish I could get my hair how Holly did it!”. If you have bridesmaids with different length hair (or people who just feel more comfortable with it up or down), this was a great way to tailor the style individually, while still having an overall vibe for the bridesmaids that fit together.

I felt it made the biggest difference to work with a hair stylist who just ‘got it’ instantly and was so kind, patient, accommodating and supremely talented. I also remember thanking Holly for having such a beautifully calm and relaxed vibe, she is the perfect energy to have around on the morning of your wedding and made me feel so at ease.

When choosing a hair stylist for your wedding, it’s obviously essential to have someone really talented who works efficiently, but remember it’s also important to have people around who will bring a fabulous energy to the day and fit in well with your bridal party. #GoodVibesOnly! We were all absolutely thrilled with Holly Stewart for both these reasons, she’s the total hair stylist package and I feel so lucky that we were all able to have such perfect hair on my wedding day.

Friday Faves: Our Magical Wedding Rose Petal Toss

I wanted to share more from our wedding with you and one of the most magical moments was the rose petal toss. It truly was one of the happiest and fun parts of the day! We had just been named “Husband and Wife”, then turned to see our most cherished family and friends, and for everyone to celebrate together in that moment by tossing beautiful fresh rose petals as we walked down the aisle, it was sheer delight!

There’s also just something about a wedding flower toss which unites everyone and kicks off the celebrations in such a fabulous, fun way…

Our Magical Wedding Rose Petal Toss

The photo above is one of my favorites from the day, I remember feeling so happy in this moment. You can also see in our wedding video here, when Chris and I walk down the aisle amidst the shower of gorgeous rose petals, there’s a moment we look at each other – we’re beaming and laughing together as we enjoy the very special feeling this brought. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am so thrilled we did a rose petal toss.

I got them from Simply Rose Petals and couldn’t have been more impressed! If you’re thinking of doing a wedding flower toss, definitely check them out… I love that it’s a family business and all flowers are grown on their family farm.

When choosing suppliers for our wedding, it was so important for me to work with amazing people who would bring good positive vibes to the day and I knew I could count on. With one of the largest rose petal farms in the world, combined with over 20 years experience and having received 11 bridal industry awards, I knew Sarah and the team at Simply Rose Petals were just who I needed to help us create this special wedding day moment. Oh and with features in Cosmopolitan Bride and as trusted suppliers for The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Dancing With The Stars, I felt 100% confident knowing they would supply the highest quality.

Plus, after hours and hours of research online, they also had the best prices and the largest variety of colors, along with options including Freeze Dried Rose Petals (which are what we chose), Flower Petals and to glam up your drinks and food, even Edible Rose Petals which are a world-first!

The edible rose petals are organically grown and completely natural, so they are perfect for decorating cupcakes, wedding cakes, chocolates and even salads. Simply Rose Petals have also partnered with Foodbank and for every pack of edible rose petals or flowers purchased, they will donate one meal to a person in need. Let’s be real here, weddings can be somewhat self-indulgent, so I absolutely love this initiative!

In addition to the wedding flower toss, I also used these gorgeous rose petals to set the scene when guests arrived at the church and they helped to create a soft, romantic and elegant feel. I’d always dreamed of being married outdoors in a garden, but wasn’t brave enough to be at the mercy of mother-nature on our wedding day.

I also love mixing unexpected elements, so we chose a stunning church venue with crisp white walls, stunning chandeliers and shiny dark timber floors… then added a grass aisle topped with these gently scattered rose petals from Simply Rose Petals, gold mason jars filled with fresh cut flowers lined the aisle and the warm glow of candles flickered from the fireplace at the centre of the room.

We received so many compliments on what a beautiful feel the church had and what a special ambiance it gave to the day. As I walked through the church doors with my Dad by my side, I was so excited to walk down such a stunning aisle… after all, doesn’t every little girl dream of walking through rose petals to meet her prince?

I really believe in supporting other women in business and love to recognize and share brilliant products, so I wanted to express my gratitude and acknowledge what an amazing service Simply Rose Petals delivered. For future brides to be, I also wanted to help out with this review and share that I would recommend using them 110%. Sarah and the team also helped me choose the perfect color mix for our venue to ensure the petals complemented the grass aisle and for the flower toss, that they would show beautifully with all the crisp white tones of the room.

I chose Freeze Dried Rose Petals in Cerise Seduction (a bright magenta, purple / pink hue that is beyond stunning) and mixed these with the Pastel Impression, which are pretty shades of cream, pale pink, lemon, lilac and peach.

The day before our wedding, my bridesmaids, mother and I all had a fun little working bee to put together pretty gold polka dot miniature cups filled with these stunning scented rose petals.

If you’re trying to decide whether to do a wedding petal toss or not, oh gosh girl… definitely do it! This is such a magical moment you’ll treasure and also one that guests truly have such fun doing, it starts the festivities and celebration in such a fabulous way!
