Friday Faves: Join Me Inside Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf Astoria New York

Like most women, there are few things I love more than an amazing day spa. Recently, I was lucky enough to experience the awe-inspiring luxury of the Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf Astoria New York.

As soon as you step out of the elevator and into the warm, welcoming spa lobby, you’re enveloped in beautiful surroundings that exude sophistication. Instantly, you know you’re somewhere truly special.

Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf Astoria New York radiates luxury, sophistication, warmth and the ultimate in relaxation.

After checking-in at the front desk, I was ushered into the most incredible treatment space I have ever experienced. For the duration of your treatment and a half hour following, you have exclusive use of your own personal suite. It’s basically a luxurious hotel room, complete with a sprawling bathroom that includes a heavenly rain shower.

As I settled in for my 50-minute Waldorf Touch Massage, I immediately noticed something entirely unique and oh so special… the beds have a heated pad on the mattress and it is just the most amazing sensation. As I snuggled under the fluffy down duvet, my whole body instantly relaxed and I knew I’d never want this massage treatment to end.

The next 50-minutes can only be described as pure, unadulterated relaxation of heavenly levels. My Waldorf Touch Massage was everything you hope and dream a spa day will be. At some point, I even fell asleep…

When I gently awoke at the end of my blissful 50-minute massage, I was then left to luxuriate in the tranquility of the gorgeous spa suite. I relaxed in my fluffy robe, enjoyed a warm rain shower and prepared myself to re-enter the outside world.

As I emerged from the treatment suite, I was guided to the opulent spa lounge and greeted with a glass of cool, crisp champagne and a selection of delicious treats to rival those found in New York’s hottest bakery.

Friday Faves: Champagne and Pampering at New York’s Legendary Plaza Hotel

New York is without doubt the most incredible city in the world and I’m sure many of you who live or have traveled here would agree, there’s no place like NYC! One of the city’s legendary places is The Plaza Hotel and this week, I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon there…

Champagne and Pampering at The Plaza Hotel

the plaza hotel champagne afternoon tea new york

It all started with their famous Champagne Afternoon Tea in The Palm Court and what a taste sensation this was. From French champagne and a tea menu unlike anything I’ve seen before, to perfectly pretty sweets, savory bites and the best scones you’ll ever eat in your life. It was an unforgettable afternoon! Whether you’re visiting or live here, this is a New York experience you need to have at least once in your life.

I invited my best friend and we had such a fabulous time! Lot’s of catching up and fun wedding planning, she’s recently engaged and is getting married next year (I organized an appointment for her at Kleinfeld), so this was the beautiful setting for lots of girl talk.

After our gorgeous afternoon tea, I went upstairs (in stunning elevators that encompass all the elegance and old world charm of yesteryear), to the renowned Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza.

This stylish, modern space is inviting and I was warmly greeted as I checked-in for a 50-minute facial treatment. I was excited to experience the new Facial Elixir. This is a facial treatment that starts with Caudalie’s signature cleansing ritual, which for the first time features the Make-up Removing Cleansing Oil, which is 100% of natural origin. In recent years, I have become very aware of the ingredients in products I use and absolutely love that this is completely natural.

My skin was then gently exfoliated, ready to receive the benefits of a relaxing Beauty Elixir massage. Through the use of misting and gentle pressure, this massage is said to boost micro-circulation from the face to the décolleté for an instant healthy glow effect. Application of the Glycolic Peel Mask, covered with cool patches soaked in Beauty Elixir, is said to enhance the skin’s radiance and multiplies the effects of the facial treatment. To perfect this moment of total relaxation, I also enjoyed a hand and foot massage… total bliss!

As my facial treatment drew to a close, I was wonderfully relaxed and my skin felt truly incredible. The difference in my skin made me realize how important facials are, not just because they are a beautiful experience, but particularly for the health of your skin. My face felt hydrated, soft, smooth and over the next few days, looked much more radiant and clear.

If you’re in NYC, I highly recommend this as a must-do… indulge in The Plaza Hotel’s Champagne Afternoon Tea and then enjoy a visit to Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa afterwards. It truly is the ultimate in luxury and an unforgettable experience not to be missed!

1.  Comfy boots are great for walking and add a chic touch to any outfit. Love these Vince Camuto ‘Peera Cutout’ Booties, on sale under $100.

2.  Mirrored aviators add instant cool to any outfit! Blush is the color to pick, these Ray Ban Mirrored Blush Aviators are stunning.

3.  Skinny Jeans can be dressed up with heels for night or down for day. These AG Legging Jeans are perfection.

4.  Scarves are essential for flights and great for adding to your vacation outfits. This Blush Dot Scarf is gorgeous and under $30.

5.  A classic stripe tee is a must! Linen ones are my absolute favorite, they feel beautiful on and have the perfect effortless drape. This Paige ‘Lynnea’ Stripe V Neck Tee is my go-to.

6.  Crossbody bags are the best for travel! They keep your hands free for selfies and margaritas. My favorite is this Rebecca Minkoff “Love Jumbo’ Crossbody Bag, it’s currently on sale for $236 (it was $355!). Snap it up.

Obsessed With… Organic Matcha Tea, Flower Bath Soak and Iceland!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a post like this, but I thought it would be fun to share what I’ve been into lately (hint, matcha tea and bubble baths are where it’s at). You know the kind of things you talk about and share with your friends? Well I wanted to do that with you, because over the years I’ve been blogging so many of you truly have become friends.

So let’s catch up ladies! Here’s what I’ve been reading, listening to, drinking, doing and dreaming lately. I’d love to hear about something you’ve been into, please leave a comment and let me know!

Reading…

After watching The People vs. O.J Simpson American Crime Story series recently, it made me want to read more. After checking out lots of books and their reviews on Amazon, I downloaded ‘I Did It: Confessions of the Killer‘ on my Kindle app.  I’m almost finished and it’s been a very interesting read – the chapter about that night is chilling. Have any of you read this book too? Thoughts?

Drinking…

Matcha Tea Lattes! It’s become a daily ritual. A lot of coffee shops still don’t have matcha tea, so I find it best to make mine at home in the morning. I love the Organic Matcha DNA Tea Set (it has over 240 five-star reviews), you use the bamboo whisk and it creates the most deliciously frothy matcha tea latte.

Matcha is an ancient ceremonial Japanese tea, it’s high in antioxidants, increases energy levels, burns calories, detoxifies the body, enhances calm and fortifies the immune system. It’s really good!

Doing…

Recently I’ve become obsessed with baths! They are just so beautifully relaxing, especially when you have a great book or mag to read and a gorgeous smelling bath soak. I love this Flowers and Salt Bath Soak, it’s infused with lavender, rose petals, calendula, chamomile, dead sea and epsom salts.

Dreaming…

I have a perpetual case of wanderlust and am always dreaming of the next destination to explore.  I would absolutely LOVE to see the Northern Lights and sleep in a glass igloo in Iceland. I found a travel deal recently – three nights with airfares for only $489! Such an incredible couple or family vacation.

Listening…

I’m still loving the song I Took a Pill in Ibiza (Mike Posner, Seeb Remix).

What To Pack For A Beach Vacation

I am so excited, it’s less than two weeks until I go on my cruise vacation to New Caledonia, Fiji and Vanuatu! Be sure to follow along on Instagram for lots of sandy beach and crystal clear blue water pics! One of the hardest things is figuring out what to pack for a beach vacation, so today I’m breaking down my must-haves.

But before we get into that, I just had to quickly mention Beyoncé‘s Lemonade album… have you listened to it yet? I’ve heard bits and pieces here and there, but plan to dive right in over the weekend. From what I have heard, wow… intense… and also utterly amazing. The lyrics are powerful. I must admit, it’s kept me quite entertained this week as everyone’s been really getting into the debate of who “Becky with the good hair” is?

If you’ve seen and heard Beyoncé‘s Lemonade album, what did you think? Please share, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

So, back to talking vacay style… I’ve been madly hunting for the perfect vacation wardrobe and wanted to share my finds. Hopefully if you’ve got some fun trips planned, or just want to get some new spring and summer looks, this round up of my fave finds helps you. I wanted to give a special mention to this white lace fit and flare dress, I think it’s an essential… it also has over 300 five-star reviews and comes in tons of colors! I also looove this white long sleeve dress.

Friday’s Fab Favorites: Life Lately from New York to LA

Happy Friday and welcome to the Fab Favorites Link Up! This week I wanted to share a little glimpse into life lately…

3 I just spent a beautiful week in New York with my Dad… every second year we do wonderful “father – daughter trips”, my sister and I take turns alternating. We created amazing memories that I’ll cherish for a lifetime…

photo 4_zpsaa9db5b6.jpg One of my favorite memories of New York with my Dad is doing a bike ride all around Central Park one afternoon… I’ve seen this lake in movies and tv shows so many times.

photo 1_zps7b0da97a.jpg On our last night in New York, we went to the theatre and saw Matilda. Oh my gosh, I’ve seen quite a lot of theatre and this is by far my favorite – it is beyond brilliant! If you’re in New York it is a must-see.

photo 5_zps710ff225.jpg Early evening in New York, I adore strolling the streets – what a magical city!

photo 6_zpsf025f7bd.jpg The weather has been incredible in LA (as always), so the perfect thing to do on a Summer morning is ride along the beach between Santa Monica and Venice. Blue skies, salty air, sand, sun and palm trees… life doesn’t get much better.

photo 7_zps39f9169a.jpg My search for the perfect white jeans continues… why do they always have to be so thin (and see-through)?!

This month I’m doing lots of travel for work and when packing my suitcases (yes, there are multiple suitcases), it always makes me realize the style staples every woman needs in her closet.  But it’s not just for travel, it’s for normal everyday life too – from a great white top, to a perfect clear-crystal statement necklace, black patent heels, stylish skinny jeans, a tailored blazer (J.Crew on sale, under $100) and a chic leather handbag.

Oh and of course, a long-wearing color rich lipstick goes a long way for instant glam! These staples are the basics you need to mix and match, creating outfits that are timeless and always stylish. What are your fashion must-haves for easy, effortless style that looks perfectly polished?
