Welcome to Style Sessions! I’ve been seriously loving the statement pants trend that’s been around the last few years. Last season it was all about the colored jean and while they are still totally fabulous, there’s a new scene stealer in town… the printed pant (I adore these and these). I was somewhat hesitant at first, after all could a loud print really be figure flattering? If you choose the right one, absolutely. My tip is to look for pants that include darker hues, they will likely be more forgiving than lighter tones. I adore a mix of blue or navy, black and white – it will mean you can style it with so many colors!
It’s been brilliant to see so many of you joining the Friday’s Fab Favorites Link Up! I had fun collaborating with our Co-Hosts last week, Rachel from La Mariposa and Lacy from Love & Lace. If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to join the link up – click here to share anything, that’s right, ANYTHING!
In case you’re new here, Style Sessions is live every Tuesday from 5am PST. It’s all about sharing what we’ve been wearing, or if you’re on a budget, a virtual outfit you’d love to wear! Every week I also select someone to showcase as ‘Head Stylist’ in the next edition – it’s a perfect way to meet new bloggers, showcase your personal style and your blog.
I simply ask that you please follow Style Elixir (via Bloglovin’, Twitter, Facebook or GFC!) and provide a link to this in your post or add the button below to your blog. Any tweets to spread the word are fabulous, we all love meeting new blog friends!
Must Have: Printed Pants and A Leather Jacket
So in addition to my current love of printed pants, I wanted to share with you my favorite, all time most adored wardrobe piece… this Vince Leather Jacket. I lusted after it for so long and the tipping point was when I saw it styled so gorgeously on Cupcakes & Cashmere. I saved up and had to have it. I am such a believer that you don’t need to spend much on ‘trend’ pieces, but when it comes to timeless wardrobe staples, investing in a quality piece with a great cut is paramount. For me, that is certainly a leather jacket…
Adding a couple of high quality pieces to your closet and mixing them with less expensive trend items is the way to go! When you have gorgeous staples, it will allow your style to transcend season after season and when you pair them with inexpensive items, you’ll still look like a million bucks. My other closet staple is this Marc by Marc Jacobs Handbag (yes, it’s here every week – it just works with everything!). Tell me… what’s on your splurge wish list right now? Here’s a peek into mine.
Outfit Details: Vince Scuba Leather Jacket (I also love this color) | Monochrome Color Block Tee (I also love this tee and this tee) | Silk Printed Pants (I also adore these pants and these pants) | Marc by Marc Jacobs Handbag | Patent Black Heels or Red Heels (similar) | Victoria’s Secret Lipstick in Showstopper | Bow Ring (similar ring here and ring here) | Crystal Pave Earrings
I’m thrilled to introduce you to this week’s Head Stylist, the lovely Joy from All Things White! Joy always puts together such fab outfits – I love how she styled this black maxi (that is such a closet staple!) by adding a basic tee, a denim vest and gorgeous cobalt Michael Kors handbag. Isn’t it a perfect casual look?!

What inspired you to start your blog? YouTube actually, I loved the beauty and fashion community on YouTube. I really wanted to make my own channel, however I did not have the courage to do so. I decided to start blogging first and perhaps later on get enough confidence to start a channel. But in the midst of it all, I discovered the blogging community and instantly fell so in love! I hardly ever watch YouTube videos now.
Name three beauty products you couldn’t live without: Eye liner, mascara and concealer!
How would you describe your style? My style is simple and chic, with just a little dash of over the top!
