My Take – Military Chic
It seems like once again a military feel is taking over fashion. I’m sure I remember this from seasons gone by – and it’s back with a vengeance! I’d probably describe my style as generally quite feminine, so for me this is one of those trends I don’t follow implicitly. It just wouldn’t be true and I’d probably feel like I was pretending – which is why I don’t believe one should religiously follow everything in the fashion world.
I believe it’s so important to learn and develop your own sense of style, then you can incorporate trend elements or create your own take on them. So for me… military chic means a polished olive green blouse, black tailored shorts and gold accessories. Oh, and Pony Hair Polka Dot Heels – these just arrived and I am literally so obsessed. For the most part, I’m keeping with the army trend color palette, but have remained true to the aesthetic I feel comfortable in…
Tell us, what’s been your biggest fashion faux pas: Ooooh, I have had a lot of these! Overalls (black corduroy?) in high school, worn with a scrunchie and sneakers; heavy white eyeliner and flipped our hair in college; tight grey skinny jeans a a too short top (not that long ago…); really, there are too many to count! I even cringe looking back on my blog from a year ago. I am still learning about what makes me look my best and make mistakes. A lot!
