Welcome to the Style Sessions Fashion Link Up! Today I’m excited to share one of my favorite activities, weekend bike rides! I was so lucky to get this gorgeous bike for my birthday in December (I love love love it!) and try to get out for a ride most days. One of the extra fabulous things is the super cute dog basket on the front! My little Ollie and I go riding together and he loves it. If we’re connected on Instagram, I’m sure you know what my Ollie looks like (he’s adorable)… and you’re probably saying, this isn’t Oliie! My photographer brought her dog over today for a little visit, so we thought we’d give her a spin on the bike!

I’m wearing one of my most loved active wear brands, Fabletics. Have you seen their collection? It’s a fitness range with Kate Hudson and the designs are perfection. Every time I go to the gym I’m always asked, “where did you get your leggings?”. They’re also super affordable, which is rare for active wear! (Also just so you know, this isn’t a sponsored post – I love their clothes and wanted to share them with you).

Oh and my biking attire isn’t complete without a helmet! When I got my bike I was so disappointed with the helmets out there, it’s unbelieveably hard to find a cute one! That is until I discovered Sawako Furuno. I spent ages googleing things like “cute helmets” and “stylish helmets”… so I was delighted to discover this brand. I had such a hard time choosing between this classic black and the leopard print… I kind of want a whole helmet wardrobe now!

Don’t forget, if you’re serious about blogging and want to take your blog to a new level in 2015, this is the last week to get your ticket to Design A Life You Love – Blogging For A Living, a six week online course and mentorship program I’m running. It’s wonderful to already see bloggers from all over the world signed up! The course starts this coming Monday, you’ll find all the details and tickets here.

STYLE Q&A WITH AMANDA:

How would you describe your style? I would describe my personal style as that of a typical California girl: casual, classic and effortless but still my own. I typically blend high and low cost items – I love finding great deals on clothing and will mix my budget finds with a fantastic designer bag.

Which fashion trend are you currently loving? Right now I am all about plaid – it’s such a quintessential fall and winter trend! I try to balance the lumberjack look with chic, feminine accessories and heels.

What inspired you to start your blog? I started blogging in 2014 as a creative outlet and because I needed a new hobby. At the time, through my full-time job I was working closely with other style and beauty bloggers and thought ‘hey, this blogging thing might be fun!’. Since then it’s been a blast creating, sharing and growing my blog. I would say my biggest inspiration comes from other bloggers – I have discovered so many other amazing blog as well and it’s always so much fun to meet the bloggers in person and already have a connection established and a like-mindedness. To me, it’s such an inspiration to see so many creative women grow their blogs and even build careers through blogging!

Name a couple beauty products you couldn’t live without: This is a toughie – I am such a beauty junkie. Right now it would be Physicians Formula’s Sexy Booster Va Va Voom Mascara (in complete disclosure I do work for the brand so I am partial, but it is a fantastic product!); Dior Miss Dior Eau de Parfumit’s my signature fragrance; and Avon’s Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover… I am a long-time addict of this stuff, it is amazing!

What is your best beauty trick? This is a little cheddar cheesy, but my best beauty trick is a smile and confidence. As for product, nothing works better on pesky pimples and blemishes than tea tree essential oil.

What is your favorite (or dream) vacation destination? I haven’t done any traveling overseas so Europe definitely tops my list of dream vacations – eating fresh croissants at a Paris café, being a total tourist in London, shopping in Milan, even exploring Sweden, where my grandma is from. I’m ready to pack my bags and go!

Tell us something not many people know about you? Many people don’t realize that I’m a total introvert – there’s been times where I’d rather stay home with a book than go out. Being an introvert can definitely have its challenges but I try to push myself, especially with having the blog, to be open to opportunities, social gatherings and experiences and so far, I am glad I have!
