This week I traveled to Melbourne, Australia for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. It’s one of the biggest events in the country – literally the entire nation stops to watch this race! Every year for most of my life, my Dad and I have done a Father / Daughter trip, we choose something fun or adventurous to do. It’s always really special to spend time with my Dad. He loves horse racing and in the last year our family welcomed ‘Glitter Top’, a beautiful future race horse who is currently in training. In the years to come, we hope she’ll one day make the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Fashion is a big part of racing and I wanted to share my race day outfit idea. I wore this gorgeous L.K.Bennett dress (they are one of Kate Middleton’s favorite designers). I love the structured top with blush and ivory embroidery, which then seamlessly connects with a floaty knife pleat skirt. It’s such a gorgeous dress and I really feel when you invest in quality pieces, it elevates your style in such an effortless and elegant way.

I paired this dress with my go-to Celine Bridge Sunglasses (these are everything, they instantly add a little cool to any outfit) and Chanel 2.55 Classic Flap Handbag, it’s from What Goes Around Comes Around on Shopbop and was gently pre-loved, but seriously looks brand new.

Also, when you’re at the races it can be a long day. To ensure my makeup lasts on special occasions (including my wedding day!), I use Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Spray. It’s incredible, you just spray it on after your makeup is done and it truly works to keep your makeup perfect aaaall day long (it also has 291 five-star reviews, so I’m not the only one who thinks it’s incredible).
