So I have to tell you, leopard print is a relatively new thing for me. Growing up, I was always a tiny bit scared of it, every time I saw the pattern, it just seemed to look a little trashy. However, over the past few years I’ve come to absolutely adore leopard and almost regard this little print as wardrobe “neutral”. When done right, I find it adds the perfect finishing touch to so many outfits and provides an instant style injection on those days you feel anything but.
The key to leopard though is this… a little goes a long way. To avoid the scary leopard lady look, incorporate it as a detail – belts, heels or scarves are brilliant! Complementary to this is my other favorite… gold! I simply love the warmth of this hue and find it works so well to add a little laid back luxe to your outfit.
This week, I combined leopard and gold with a pop of color in the form of a gorgeous green scarf from celebrity favorite brand Nepali by TDM. Pairing it all with a simple white top and tailored black shorts provides the perfect canvas. You’ll also see those Prada sunglasses are on repeat again (I just can’t get enough!)…
Outfit Details: White Silk Top (custom made, similar from Theory (on sale!), or (Rachel Zoe’s pick!)pocket tank) |Tailored Shorts (similar from Michael Kors – on sale!) | Nepali by TDM Scarf c/o | Leopard Belt (on sale!) | Prada Sunglasses| Dogeared Wishbone Necklace| Gold Bangles (similar) | Pave Earrings (similar) | Black Patent Heels (similar) | Tiffany & Co. Ring | M.A.C Tinted Lipglass
Meet Our Head Stylist…
I’m excited to introduce you to Lindsay from Lee LaLa. Every week I look forward to seeing what outfit Lindsay’s created next! She has gorgeous style and puts together fabulous outfits that are not only chic, but also have a sense of relaxed relatability.
STYLE Q&A WITH LINDSAY…
What is your go-to look? Pre baby, I lived in heels and stilettos but as all mom’s know, with kids in tow this look is a thing of the past. My day to day look this summer is skinny jeans, an oversized tee and gladiator sandals, a maxi skirt and tank, or a cute sundress. I’m all about the accessories and believe you can change any look or dress up any outfit with the right accessories.
There are so many fashion trends right now, which on are you currently loving? I am loving all the festival looks this summer. Overalls, flower crowns, floral prints, cut offs. I need an excuse to rock one of those crowns darn it!
What inspired you to start Lee LaLa? I started my blog after the birth of my daughter Landyn. I wanted an outlet to express my creativity and also keep family and friends updated on my life. I love looking back to growth in all areas of my life. Blogging has already become a testament to so many chapters of my life.
Name three beauty products you couldn’t live without? My Olay daily moisturizer with spf, Burt’s Bees pomegranate lip balm and Nerium for anti-aging.
How would you describe your style? My personal style is a mix between boho chic and cute and girly. I love to intermix the two and play up certain trends with my own spin.
So cute – leopard adds a great touch to this outfit! I have a pair of shoes that, at first were too much for me and now are just like neutrals. Love it on you! xo ~chloe & kim
One of my favorite looks yet – the belt is fantastic and I love the green scarf gives it something extra. your head stylists looks is cute too – love the chambray with the violet. 🙂
I felt the same way about Leopard but over the last year I found out how versatile it is in a apprpriate dose. Love your belt, it would perfectly fit to my nine west Leopard pumps hehehe 😉
love the scarf and the belt… like you i was hesitant at first of wearing leopard print because i picture those in funny sitcoms where the woman wears leopard print all over, but if it’s in an accessory detail, leopard prints provide such a great accent. 🙂
I love the subtle detail of the animal print belt and the pop of color in the scarf…very chic summer look! Thanks for hosting the link up! -Natasha lovelyyoublog.com
I always felt the same way about animal print — I am slowwwwwly adding a few animal-print accessories, like scarves. I also have a basic trench coat, but it has an animal-print linings, which I think is a fun bonus. You can see it here at http://librarianforlifestyle.wordpress.com/2012/09/26/pencil-skirts-and-peep-toes/ — so people get a peek of animal print when I wear it open, but it’s not “in your face” 😀
I’m all about a touch of leopard! I’ve never been a huge fan of the print myself so I like it best in small doses like this 🙂 And gold is always good! Such a classic. Plus, I’m swooning over your pretty emerald scarf. Jessi http://haircutandgeneralattitude.blogspot.com

I like this look on you Lauren! I’ve been searching for the perfect leopard belt but it’s something about it that I don’t like. The one you’re wearing is cute. 🙂
You look great Lauren! I like seeing others wear scarves in the summer bc I wear them year-round too. I also love the dog-earred necklace, one of my favorite necklace brands. They make such sweet and simple jewelry!
Lauren love the gold, leopard, and pop of color from the green scarf! Such a cute summery look! 🙂 P.S. I definitely need to incorporate more leopard into my wardrobe ;)!
That is definitely a nice animal print accent in your outfit! I’m surprised it looked so great on…I’m also afraid to try leopard prints since up to now I still don’t own one. This belt just gave me an idea on how to style leopard prints…that is if I can find one. 🙂
I used to feel the same way about leopard and then I realized that it’s so versatile and a neutral. It has now become quite the obsession 🙂
Love the head stylist’s look!
Really like your green scarf with the black and white outfit 🙂
