I wanted to share more from our wedding with you and one of the most magical moments was the rose petal toss. It truly was one of the happiest and fun parts of the day! We had just been named “Husband and Wife”, then turned to see our most cherished family and friends, and for everyone to celebrate together in that moment by tossing beautiful fresh rose petals as we walked down the aisle, it was sheer delight!
There’s also just something about a wedding flower toss which unites everyone and kicks off the celebrations in such a fabulous, fun way…
Our Magical Wedding Rose Petal Toss
The photo above is one of my favorites from the day, I remember feeling so happy in this moment. You can also see in our wedding video here, when Chris and I walk down the aisle amidst the shower of gorgeous rose petals, there’s a moment we look at each other – we’re beaming and laughing together as we enjoy the very special feeling this brought. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am so thrilled we did a rose petal toss.
I got them from Simply Rose Petals and couldn’t have been more impressed! If you’re thinking of doing a wedding flower toss, definitely check them out… I love that it’s a family business and all flowers are grown on their family farm.
When choosing suppliers for our wedding, it was so important for me to work with amazing people who would bring good positive vibes to the day and I knew I could count on. With one of the largest rose petal farms in the world, combined with over 20 years experience and having received 11 bridal industry awards, I knew Sarah and the team at Simply Rose Petals were just who I needed to help us create this special wedding day moment. Oh and with features in Cosmopolitan Bride and as trusted suppliers for The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Dancing With The Stars, I felt 100% confident knowing they would supply the highest quality.
Plus, after hours and hours of research online, they also had the best prices and the largest variety of colors, along with options including Freeze Dried Rose Petals (which are what we chose), Flower Petals and to glam up your drinks and food, even Edible Rose Petals which are a world-first!
The edible rose petals are organically grown and completely natural, so they are perfect for decorating cupcakes, wedding cakes, chocolates and even salads. Simply Rose Petals have also partnered with Foodbank and for every pack of edible rose petals or flowers purchased, they will donate one meal to a person in need. Let’s be real here, weddings can be somewhat self-indulgent, so I absolutely love this initiative!
In addition to the wedding flower toss, I also used these gorgeous rose petals to set the scene when guests arrived at the church and they helped to create a soft, romantic and elegant feel. I’d always dreamed of being married outdoors in a garden, but wasn’t brave enough to be at the mercy of mother-nature on our wedding day.
I also love mixing unexpected elements, so we chose a stunning church venue with crisp white walls, stunning chandeliers and shiny dark timber floors… then added a grass aisle topped with these gently scattered rose petals from Simply Rose Petals, gold mason jars filled with fresh cut flowers lined the aisle and the warm glow of candles flickered from the fireplace at the centre of the room.
We received so many compliments on what a beautiful feel the church had and what a special ambiance it gave to the day. As I walked through the church doors with my Dad by my side, I was so excited to walk down such a stunning aisle… after all, doesn’t every little girl dream of walking through rose petals to meet her prince?
I really believe in supporting other women in business and love to recognize and share brilliant products, so I wanted to express my gratitude and acknowledge what an amazing service Simply Rose Petals delivered. For future brides to be, I also wanted to help out with this review and share that I would recommend using them 110%. Sarah and the team also helped me choose the perfect color mix for our venue to ensure the petals complemented the grass aisle and for the flower toss, that they would show beautifully with all the crisp white tones of the room.
I chose Freeze Dried Rose Petals in Cerise Seduction (a bright magenta, purple / pink hue that is beyond stunning) and mixed these with the Pastel Impression, which are pretty shades of cream, pale pink, lemon, lilac and peach.
The day before our wedding, my bridesmaids, mother and I all had a fun little working bee to put together pretty gold polka dot miniature cups filled with these stunning scented rose petals.
If you’re trying to decide whether to do a wedding petal toss or not, oh gosh girl… definitely do it! This is such a magical moment you’ll treasure and also one that guests truly have such fun doing, it starts the festivities and celebration in such a fabulous way!
